Applications are only accepted from owners of the property where the trees are to be planted. If you currently rent and feel a tree could improve your front yard, please share this application with your landlord and encourage them to apply.

  • Planting Site Information

  • Application CANNOT be submitted

Per Rooted in Laramie's mission to grow our community forest, we only plant trees in front yards where they can be easily enjoyed by everyone. If you would like more information on eligible planting locations, please visit our website www.RootedInLaramie.org or email us at [email protected].

  • There might be a problem....

Based on your answer, we may not be able to plant a tree in that location. Planting locations must be at least 15 feet from other objects, including buildings, other trees, fences, sheds, etc. This ensures the roots won't damage structures, and the tree's canopy has enough room to grow. We recommend selecting a new location for your tree. However, if you would like to stay with this potential planting site, please await our reply to this application. Please email us with any questions at [email protected].

  • Application CANNOT be submitted

Although trees won't be planted until June, based on issues that have arisen during past plantings, we now require planting sites to be viable at the time of application submittal. Please choose a different planting site or have the obstruction removed and then reapply next year.

  • There might be a problem...

One of Rooted in Laramie's goals is to grow our community forest for everyone to enjoy. If the view of your tree is obstructed by a tall fence or structure, this makes it less impactful and will make you less competitve for a tree. If possible, we recommend chosing a different planting site. Please email us with any questions at [email protected].

  • In order of importance, please choose the tree qualities that interest you most.

  • Tree Choice

  • Please select your top three tree varieties.

You can download a guide about our 2024 tree species from our website, www.RootedInLaramie.org.

Based off your answers to this question and the information you provide in the application, we will do our our best to connect you with your preferred tree(s). We have limited quantities of each type of tree, so the earlier you submit your application, the greater the options. Trees are not fully reserved until payment is received.

  • Planting Site Information

  • RIL volunteers use Google Earth to examine yards and determine if there is space for trees, how many trees, size, etc. Please describe location you would like your tree(s) planted and use the optional photo uploads if you can.

  • Terms & Conditions

  • We are an all-volunteer organization dedicated to growing Laramie's community forest and educating our neighbors about tree care. We do this by selling trees at a significant discount thanks to grants from partnering organizations, including Laramie Rivers Conservation District, Rotary Clubs of Laramie and Wyoming State Forestry, and training volunteers about the right way to plant those trees. Over the past 5 years we have planted more than 250 trees throughout Laramie!

Since this process is different from purchasing a tree through a nursery or tree company, we have created the following terms and conditions, which reflect our goals, clarify expectations, and help us fulfill grant requirements.
